Wilton Reinsurance Bermuda Limited (“Wilton Re” or the “Company”) retains personally identifiable information about certain policyholders, and the Company is committed to using such personal information in a lawful and fair manner, and in compliance with the Bermuda’s Personal Information Protection Act 2016 (“PIPA”). This Privacy Notice is designed to comply with our privacy notice requirements pursuant to PIPA.
Personal Information Collected from Policyholders
The Company collects, uses, and discloses personal information and sensitive personal information (as defined in PIPA) about its policyholders only for the purposes for which it was collected. Personal information will never be sold or used for marketing purposes by the Company.
The personal information may include:
- contact information such as policyholder’s name, mailing address, email, phone number
- demographic information such as policyholder’s age, gender, date of birth, employment details, marital status, beneficiary information, nationality as well as details related to policyholder’s beneficiaries or dependents
- health information such as policyholder’s lifestyle information, health and smoking status, medical history, diagnosis
- financial information such as contributions, investment funds and accounts, retirement goals, source of income, risk tolerance
- identifiers such bank account number and government issued IDs
- supporting documents such as tax slips, bank statements, identity verification, wills, proof of relationship, power of attorney
- information about policyholder’s interactions with the Company such as policyholder’s survey responses, call centre interactions and complaints

Uses of Personal Information
Policyholder’s personal information may be used by the Company for the following purposes:
- providing our services and related correspondence
- processing payments or claims
- coordinating the provision of our products or services with our suppliers or service providers
- as may be required for any legal or regulatory purposes associated with our due diligence Anti-Money Laundering and Anti-Terrorism Financing, or other “Know Your Customer” requirements or governance practices
- as may be required as part of the services procured for domestic or foreign data processing, to outsource our information technology infrastructure, or where ever the use of personal information is required for the purpose of performing such third-party services for the benefit of the Company
- for undertaking data analytics, statistical analysis or related customer relationship assessment and evaluation
Third-Party Disclosure of Personal Information
The types of individuals or organizations that the Company may provide personal information are as follows (subject to change from time to time):
- government, regulatory authorities and taxation authorities
- suppliers, service providers, advisors and consultants
- parent organization
- professional advisors, such as legal, accounting, financial or business advisors
- agents, representatives, authorized business associates or partners
- third party outsourcing, cloud, SaaS, DaaS or other IT/data processing service providers
- industry consultants for risk analytics, actuarial, pricing, KYC/due diligence service providers
Access and Controls around Personal Information
Policyholders seeking to obtain access to, or make a request for a correction to, their personal information, should submit a written request to the Privacy Officer, which must include sufficient information to enable the Company, with reasonable effort, to identify the personal information that is relevant to the request.
Please note the following information associated with any request the Company receives from policyholders:
- The Company requires an accurate and complete name and contact information
- The Company will confirm receipt of any enquiry or instructions within two business days of receipt
- The Company will take a reasonable amount of time to process an enquiry or instructions and initially respond to requests, but usually no more than 45 days (depending upon the nature and complexity of the request)
Wilton Re reserves the right to update this Privacy Notice at any time and as may be prudent or necessary to reflect changes in our privacy practices or legal requirements. The Company reserves all of its rights and protections afforded to it under PIPA.
